The Edmond Sun Subscription

Every Savvy Saver knows that the more coupons you have to work with, the more deals you can do. That’s why it’s important to get your hands on as many inserts as you can. You may be able to ask friends and family to pass theirs along to you, but most of the time, you may find yourself having to buy multiple papers.

That’s why I wanted to share a couple of awesome deals for The Edmond Sun with you.

Deal #1

Sign up for The Edmond Sun, Saturday only Subscription for just $33.80 per year. That works out to just $0.65 per issue (regular price $1.50).Plus, if you buy two or more subscriptions, you’ll get an additional month free with each subscription. So basically, 56 weeks for the price of 52 weeks which works out to just $0.60 per issue.

Deal #2

If you’d like to receive The Edmond Sun everyday, look for the HOT PINK flyer in the April 14 issue of The Edmond Sun.Use it to subscribe for one year (52 weeks) for just $58.46.When you do, you’ll also recieve a $20 Gift Card for Gas or Groceries! It’s like paying $38.46 for 52 weeks of the daily paper which will also get your coupons. It’s still like paying just $0.74 each if you were calculating the coupon issue only.To be eligible for this deal, you must not have been a subscriber for the past 30 days.

I buy at least 3 papers per week. Personally, I like to get one copy of the Oklahoman on Sunday because it has ALL the ads in it, but I’m all for saving $$ on subsequent copies.

Following the Signs – Making Changes

Share This Post :

Following the Signs
Everywhere we look, there are signs. Signs to guide us. Signs to inform us. Signs to warn us. However, signs are nothing but shapes, symbols and letters unless we choose to heed their message. The same applies to the signs God gives us.

A little over a week ago, I announced that I was taking a break to watch over the affairs of my household, to catch up on a few things. Turns out, God knew I would need that time to to deal with family situations without hindrance, and He had a few signs to show me along the way.

Hard Hats Required

Friday afternoon, I filed a petition for legal guardianship of my husband’s ex-wife’s daughter (his step-daughter when they were married) – long, grace-filled story.  She will be living with us for the next year – sort of starting over with a clean slate. This will greatly change the dynamics of our home and create some challenges.

Also, some concerns regarding my youngest daughter rose to the surface during this time. Working through this with her will require much wisdom, consistency and grace.

God’s handiwork is written all over these circumstances and I am excited – emotionally drained at the moment – but excited.

1e

God is really impressing upon my heart that my tweens and teens need me more now than when they were toddlers. I don’t want to forsake them. I’m heeding the sign.

Stop
He’s also been speaking to me for quite some time about balance in blogging and homemaking and to be quite frank, I was flat out ignoring Him.

He’s been telling me to STOP being a deal hunter…but rather to deal more with intentional living. To stop competing with the thousands of other frugal bloggers and just do what He has put before me. It’s taken awhile, but I’m heeding the sign.

He’s shown me more and more the neglect I’ve heaped upon my home. It’s by no means a pig stye, but let’s just say it’s more often in disarray with lots of unfinished projects scattered about, not exactly warm and inviting. I’m heeding the sign.
Road Work Ahead
All these signs call for some re-prioritizing here at Simple Saving Savvy. In the following weeks, you can expect:

  • Weekly local grocery store deals and coupon matchups.
  • Only the BEST deals for Walgreens, Target and CVS.
  • Printable coupons.
  • MORE “in the kitchen” and “in the home” posts.
  • LESS online deals and freebies.
  • MORE tips to equip you as a savvy shopper and encourage you in your call to be a homemaker.
  • LESS daily posts in general as I strive to make my home and family my top priority.
  • A somewhat new, simplified, user-friendly design.

While I hope that you will stick around and see what is to come, I realize that making these changes may mean that Simple Saving Savvy no longer meets your needs. I will understand if many of you decide that we will part ways and I pray many blessings over you as you continue your frugal journey.

I cannot begin to explain the peace and calm that has come over me since making the decision to simply obey, to embrace the signs. What signs are you ignoring or heeding?

She watches over the affairs of her household...
For some time, I have been struggling with time management and to be honest, laziness. It has come to a head in my home and in my heart and God has shown me that I can no longer patch it up or ignore it. I must address it head on.

Starting today, I will be taking a week off to “watch over the affairs of my household.” During this time, I will post only match ups for grocery store deals. I will also be setting new coupons from Coupons.com and CouponNetwork to automatically post. I will get back to regular posting Saturday, April 6.
