KitchenAid Mixer

Last December, I talked the Hubs into a KitchenAid Mixer for my anniversary present. It wasn’t easy but I promised him it was the best price I’d ever seen and he wouldn’t be required to pull off an anniversary date. After three years of hinting and begging, I got my mixer.

The price then was $170 after sale, coupon, rebates and Kohl’s cash. I have an EVEN BETTER price for you now!

Follow these steps to score a KitchenAid Mixer in white or silver for just $150.47, after rebate and Kohl’s cash!

  • Add the KitchenAid Mixer to your cart ($229.99).
  • Use promo code ENTERTAIN15 to get an additional 15% off.
OR if you are a Kohl’s charge card holder, you can use code FLOWERS30 for 30% off.
  • You’ll pay $210.47, or $175.98 if you are a Kohl’s charge card holder!
  • Complete this $30 rebate.
  • Get back $30 in Kohl’s Cash.
  • Final Cost: $150.47 or less.  Sweet!

Thanks Freebie Shark!

Oh, and by the way…he still took me on a date! Love that man!

5 Tips for a Successful Garage Sale From an Avid Bargain Hunter

Share This Post :

Tips for a Successful Garage Sale

If you google “successful garage sale”, you’ll find lots of articles about how to have a successful garage sale, written by people who have garage sales at least once a year if not several.

My take is a little different. I don’t have garage sales, I just like to shop garage sales. This has been a favorite pastime of mine since girlhood. Over the years, I’ve developed a short list of criteria for what I think makes a successful garage sale from a customer perspective. A successful garage sale basically boils down to being intentional and organized.

Inventory

My favorite garage sales have lots of inventory.

Aside from getting a crazy good deal, the best thing about shopping garage sales is the thrill of “the hunt”. Whether you do a multiple family event or fly solo, make sure you have enough inventory to attract customers and keep them engaged.

Shopping

My favorite garage sales display items in a way that is easy for customers to see and sort through.

  • Clothing is divided into women’s, men’s and children. Baby clothes are separated from older children’s sizes.
  • Other items are sorted by type i.e. housewares, tools, trinkets, toys, etc.
  • If possible, items are displayed on tables or hung so shoppers do not have to bend down or dig through boxes.

My favorite garage sales use attention getting, easy to follow signage.

  • Signs are clearly printed large enough to read when driving by.
  • In a neighborhood with winding roads or several turns, signs are a single, bright color and placed strategically to guide the shopper in using arrows.

Pricing

My favorite garage sales have clearly marked prices on every item.

  • I don’t like to have to ask the price of an item. As soon as I pick it up, I want to know if it’s a price I’ll pay.
  • I also don’t want to pick an item up from the 50¢ table only to find that it was supposed to be on the $2 table.

My favorite garage sales have items priced to sell

  • I garage sale for one reason…to get a bargain. I’m choosing to buy used items because I’m trying to save as much money as I can. I don’t want to pay nearly new prices. I don’t want to pay reasonable prices. I want a rock bottom bargain.
  • Personally, I’m not a haggler and most garage sale shoppers aren’t. If an item is priced too high, we’ll walk away.

Do you have garage sales or just like to shop them? Do you have any tips for throwing a garage sale?

Ultimate Homemaking eBook Bundle

You may remember when I posted about getting a Kindle for my birthday…just LAST year. I know I’m always a little behind with technology, but like I said before, that’s just fine with me.

Actually, I’m one of those people who still prefer turning the pages of a book rather than reading from an electronic device. I chose to buy my Kindle for one reason and one reason only…

eBooks!!!

I love eBooks! I wanted a Kindle so I could have these short, sweet, information packed treasures at my finger tips…to take with me on errands. To read while I’m waiting for my oil to be changed, or in the pick up line at school. Or during commercials.

That’s why I’m so excited about this offer! Starting April 29, the Ultimate Homemakeing eBook Bundle will be available.

Imagine! 97 eBooks focused on various aspects of homemaking:

  • cleaning and organizing
  • home decor
  • home schooling
  • spiritual growth
  • cookbooks
  • beauty and style

  • pregnancy, baby and childbirth
  • holidays and special events
  • marriage
  • health and fitness
  • working from home

All for jsut $29.97 plus over $140 worth of offers from sponsors!

Here are a few of the books I’m especially excited about considering I’ve been struggling with home management and blogging:

31 Days to Clean: Having a Martha House the Mary Way

Getting It Together: Your Guide to Setting Up a Home Management System That Works!

And a couple for us moms who struggle to get out of our pajamas each day or wear anything but yoga pants:
