Blankets of Blessing
The Blankets of Blessing donation drive ended one week ago today (Monday).

A huge thank you to everyone who donated blankets and sheets.

Another special thank you to Reisha who picked up most of the blankets from my house here in Edmond and delivered them to The HUB Mission Ministries in Mustang.

However, a few of the blankets went another direction:

Blankets

Regina, from The Mustard Seed Corp, contacted me last Tuesday to see if I still had any blankets. A “neighbor” she was working with did not have heat in her home and was sleeping on a mattress on the floor with no bedding. The lady had spent the previous night in the ER because it was the only place she could go to stay warm. We were able to bless her with a set of sheets and the thick warm blankets you see here.

I received this Facebook message a few days later from Regina:

“I spoke with Berlene today. She LOVED the blankets. She talked about how fluffy and warm they were. It was wonderful to see her so happy. She has been very sad since her son was killed last year. Now she wants a bible. That will be my next delivery. First blankets, then a bible. All I can say is …. Wow!”

I loved being able to tell my kids at dinner how God used something as simple as a few blanket donations to truly bless someone else. We can’t even begin to imagine how God will use us when we respond to the opportunities He puts before us!

Blanket Drive

These blankets were delivered to The HUB Mission Ministries who passed a large number of them on to Christian Services Center which serves the Capitol Hill area of OKC.

I have decided to make the Blankets of Blessing Donation Drive an annual event, only we’ll get started in early autumn next time around.

I hope you’ll pray about joining us!
